How I work:
My approach is very similar to that of your local handyman. I solve financial related problems and complete specific projects. I quote you for this work and endeavour to complete the assigned task or project within the quoted amount.
As with any contractor, after I get to work, sometimes I discover other items or areas which need attention. I will bring your awareness to these concerns and will fully disclose any additional costs which may be needed to address them.
I take a more segmented approach to financial planning, attempting to tackle specific issues or concerns that are front of mind versus a more comprehensive and more costly Full Financial Plan.
A Full Financial Plan is always available, if desired.
I am only compensated by my fees. I do not receive any hidden commissions or sell any products. I do not manage investments on behalf of clients nor do I collect referral fees from product providers I might recommend.
I am a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and as such, I am governed by Professional Standards and a Code of Ethics.
As I am no longer licensed to sell securities, the investment advice and recommendations I provide are more general in nature such as: appropriate risk tolerance and asset allocation, fee assessment, platform and product analysis, investment education, DIY tips etc. I do not provide individual security advice or recommendations (buy this, sell that). I do not manage investments.
